Green Cars Saw Price Declines Slow Down in July

Used vehi­cle val­ues were down 2.2% from the pre­vi­ous month, which was slight­ly less than the 2.6% price decline in June. One notice­able dif­fer­ence was that hybrid/alternative ener­gy and elec­tric vehi­cle seg­ments saw their decline slow down at 2.3% and zero per­cent, respec­tive­ly. Large declines in the car seg­ments were seen by sub­com­pacts at 4.7%, com­pacts at 3.8%, and mid-size at 3.1%.

Increase in new con­struc­tion lends itself to stronger demand for full-size trucks.
