Wheels a ‘Stevie’ Finalist in Three Categories

Wheels has been named a final­ist in three “Ste­vie” Amer­i­can Busi­ness Award cat­e­gories for 2014.

Wheels’ new pub­lic web­site made the short­list for Best Web Writing/Content, while the company’s Results + per­for­mance man­age­ment method­ol­o­gy received was nom­i­nat­ed in one of the Best New Prod­uct or Ser­vice cat­e­gories. The Wheels Client Ana­lyt­ics group was also named a final­ist for Sup­port Team of the Year. Wheels will ulti­mate­ly win a Gold, Sil­ver, or Bronze Ste­vie in each cat­e­go­ry. Last year, Wheels com­plet­ed an exten­sive ren­o­va­tion of its pub­lic web­site – www.wheels.com. The new site fea­tures enhanced nav­i­ga­tion, con­tent and graph­ics designed to pro­vide enhanced lev­els of usabil­i­ty.

“Our web­site revamp was dri­ven by a chang­ing mar­ket­place that has come to favor sites with…results-based con­tent that speaks to a vari­ety of audi­ences,” said Gail Wheel­er, Senior Direc­tor of Mar­ket­ing at Wheels. “Our new web­site more suc­cinct­ly focus­es on results while still artic­u­lat­ing our com­pet­i­tive dif­fer­en­tia­tors.” Wheels also refined and brand­ed its long­stand­ing strate­gic account man­age­ment approach. last year. Now known as Results+, the company’s award-win­ning per­for­mance man­age­ment method­ol­o­gy focus­es on short-and long-term strate­gic account plans that are cus­tomized to fit each client’s spe­cif­ic needs.

“Through cus­tomized busi­ness plans, pro­pri­etary seg­men­ta­tion mod­els and reg­u­lar account per­for­mance reviews, Results+ helps Wheels’ clients clear­ly iden­ti­fy areas of focus and quan­ti­fy results,” said Lau­ra Jozwiak, Wheels’ Vice Pres­i­dent of Client Rela­tions. “Our clients have praised the accu­rate, suc­cinct and action­able way in which data is pre­sent­ed and used to dri­ve sound fleet-wide deci­sions.” Jozwiak added that while Results+ entails a big-pic­ture focus on ensur­ing con­tin­u­ous improve­ment for each customer’s fleet, it can also be used to dri­ve suc­cess for the indi­vid­ual ele­ments of a client’s ser­vic­ing pro­file. This is accom­plished through new Results+ Mod­ules, which are data-dri­ven, client-spe­cif­ic work prod­ucts that pro­vide strate­gic guid­ance and results map­ping on focused fleet top­ics, such as fuel, risk and remar­ket­ing.

Wheels com­ple­ment­ed its Results+ ini­tia­tive with a sweep­ing staff realign­ment that fos­ters a more syn­er­gis­tic rela­tion­ship between Wheels’ behind-the-scenes Client Ana­lyt­ics team and its client-fac­ing Account Man­agers. By focus­ing on direct col­lab­o­ra­tion between the two teams, Wheels cre­at­ed a process that stream­lines the way each client’s fleet data is gen­er­at­ed, ana­lyzed and com­mu­ni­cat­ed.

“Client Ana­lyt­ics has imple­ment­ed a dynam­ic new track­ing arrange­ment through which Account Man­agers make data requests and work direct­ly with our ana­lysts to deter­mine the desired deliv­er­ables and time­frame,” said Bob Black, Direc­tor of Client Ana­lyt­ics at Wheels. Black said that the realign­ment has helped stream­line a num­ber of exist­ing data ana­lyt­ics process­es at Wheels while also paving the way for a host of new appli­ca­tions. Among these is a new Vehi­cle Replace­ment Analy­sis tool that uses cur­rent auto­mo­tive resale mar­ket per­for­mance data to help the com­pa­ny accu­rate­ly fore­cast replace­ment eco­nom­ics and opti­mize vehi­cle replace­ment sched­ules for its clients.

Ste­vie final­ists were cho­sen by more than 150 busi­ness pro­fes­sion­als nation­wide dur­ing pre­lim­i­nary judg­ing. Final judg­ing will take place May 13 through May 22. Ste­vie win­ners will be announced dur­ing two awards galas, the first on June 13 in Chica­go and the sec­ond on Sep­tem­ber 12 in San Fran­cis­co.
