All-New BMW i3 Takes KBB’s Annual Best Green Car Award

Kel­ley Blue Book released its annu­al 10 Best Green Cars award. The all-new elec­tric BMW i3 took the top spot. It’s built at an eco-friend­ly plant, comes in all-elec­tric and gaso­line-assist­ed range exten­der ver­sions, and it fea­tures an ultra-light car­bon-fiber body to gain max­i­mum range from its bat­tery pack. Each year, both the quan­ti­ty and qual­i­ty of green cars has been improv­ing – offer­ing buy­ers a grow­ing num­ber of choic­es at a wider range of prices.

Nis­san Leaf Has Stayed High on List, Fin­ish­ing at Num­ber 2 this Year:
KBB’s resale val­ue fore­cast for Leaf has been neg­a­tive – recent fore­cast thinks only 15% of val­ue will be retained after five years.

Long­stand­ing and Pop­u­lar Toy­ota Prius Took Num­ber Three this Year:
The Prius also made KBB’s recent list of 10 best used cars under $8,000.

This Year’s List Fea­tures Diver­si­ty of Green Cars – Elec­tric, Hybrid, CNG, and Clean Diesel:
Reflects most fuel effi­cient vehi­cles; also takes into account pro­duc­tion meth­ods and recy­cla­bil­i­ty.
