The briefing, titled “Converting Vehicle Fleets to Alternative Fuels: Federal Policies Key for Reducing U.S. Dependence on Foreign Oil,” is hosted by the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) and produced in coordination with Transportation Energy Partners (TEP) and NAFA.  The briefing takes place Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 8:30 am to 10 am in the Capitol Visitor Center Auditorium.

The purpose of the briefing is to demonstrate to congressional leaders and staff members the strides public and private sector fleet managers in nearly every state are making in converting to alternative fuels (e.g., biofuels, electricity, natural gas, propane). More than 100 elected leaders and staff, as well as representatives from federal agencies, state/local government, foreign government, public interest groups, industry, academia, and media are expected to attend.

Four NAFA members, representing corporate, government, utility, and university fleets from across the United States, will speak at the briefing. They will talk about why they are converting their fleets, the challenges they face, and the importance of federal and state incentives in overcoming these challenges. Speakers at this briefing are:
