One would believe that as engines decrease in size and fuel econ­o­my improves, that the cost of dri­ving will decrease as well. This is not always true. In a size­able amount of new vehi­cles, the meth­ods used to squeeze equiv­a­lent horse­pow­er from small­er engines have man­u­fac­tur­ers point­ing cus­tomers toward pre­mi­um-grade gaso­line.
