Pickups Saw Much Better Month than Fuel-efficient Vehicles

Auc­tion val­ues declined a mod­est 1.2% in June led by declines in val­ues of fuel-effi­cient vehi­cles. Pick­up trucks saw a good month and were among the best per­form­ing seg­ments over­all with near­ly no depre­ci­a­tion for the month. Val­ues should con­tin­ue to decline near­ly 1% per month through sum­mer.

KBB Expects Fuel Prices to Soft­en Slight­ly through Sum­mer Months:
Com­pact cars declin­ing in prices, and 2012 Hyundai Veloster has best retained val­ue.

Redesigned 2014 mod­els may be wan­ing inter­est in used domes­tic trucks like GMC Sier­ra and Chevro­let Sil­ver­a­do.

Com­pact and Mid-size Lux­u­ry Util­i­ty Vehi­cle Lead­ing Indus­try in Retained Val­ue:
Lead­ing at 72.4% of MSRP, and 4 of 6 lux­u­ry seg­ments high­er than indus­try aver­age of 62.5%.
