Manheim Consulting Reports on Market Strength So Far this Year

After see­ing five months of declines, whole­sale prices increased in June from the pre­vi­ous month while being 3% low­er than a year ago. For quar­ter­ly prices, the first quar­ter saw a decline of 0.8% and 2.1% in Q2. Man­heim also report­ed in its study on the first half of 2013 that while Q2 prices were down 3% com­pared to Q2 2012, the quar­ter was strong. Val­ues were in bet­ter align­ment with retail new and used vehi­cle prices.

UVs Sold by Deal­ers Up 3.6% in June but Down for Quar­ter from Year Ago:

Oth­er pub­lic deal­ers like­ly to report high­er used vehi­cle sales for cal­en­dar quar­ter end­ing June 30.

Rental Risk Unit Prices Increased 4.8% in June Rel­a­tive to Year Ago:
Basi­cal­ly unchanged from both May and year ago after adjust­ing for broad shifts in mar­ket class­es and mileage.
