Corporate Average Fuel Economy Getting Better

Fuel econ­o­my for new vehi­cles sold in the US is a full mile high­er than it was a year ago, accord­ing to the Uni­ver­si­ty of Michi­gan Trans­porta­tion Research Insti­tute. It remains at the same lev­el as Octo­ber – 24.1 mpg – which is up from September’s 23.8 mpg aver­age. The num­bers have improved despite the fact that Hyundai and Kia have had to scale back their mileage claim.
