Automakers Assessing Storm’s Impact on New Vehicle Sales

Hur­ri­cane Sandy may have reduced October’s SAAR esti­mate by 300,000 units accord­ing to Ford, and up to 700,000 units says Gen­er­al Motors. Automak­ers saw mixed results for the month, with Chrysler and GM see­ing strong gains and Ford report­ing flat sales from a year ago. Volk­swa­gen, Kia, and Hon­da saw sales gains, while Nis­san said sales were down.
