Nissan Recall and Hyundai Investigation Focus on Steering Defects

Nis­san is recall­ing near­ly 14,000 of its 2012 and 2013 Alti­mas due to a steer­ing defect that could cause dri­vers to lose con­trol of the vehi­cle. The recall filed with Nation­al High­way Traf­fic Safe­ty Admin­is­tra­tion applies to cer­tain 2013 mod­els as the Alti­ma was redesigned for the 2013 mod­el year. NHTSA also announced an inves­ti­ga­tion into “a com­plete loss of steer­ing capa­bil­i­ty” on 70,000 2011 Hyundai San­ta Fe crossovers.
