Tesla Using Apple Outlet Model to Build Network, National Park Service Greens Up Fleet

Sales for the Tesla Model S sedan will be based on an expanding network of stores, much like the outlets for Apple. Tesla CEO Elon Musk says the company already has 10,000 orders for the vehicle and will deliver 5,300 this year and 20,000 next year. Ten new stores will be added this year, bringing the total to 30 stores, already getting 4,000 visitors a week.

Federal national parks will be joining ranks with U.S. Dept. of Defense in deploying green vehicles and fuels into its fleet logistics.  The U.S. Energy Dept. and the National Park Service announced that five national parks around the country will deploy fuel efficient and alternative fuel vehicles as part of an expanded partnership. Clean Cities coalitions are working with the national parks to choose the best clean energy fleet options, such as EVs, plug-in hybrids, propane-powered lawn mowers and trucks, biodiesel blends, and EV chargers for fleet vehicles and accessible to the public.
