Ford and GM Move Forward on Plant Energy Efficiency

Along with efforts to make their cars more fuel effi­cient, Ford and Gen­er­al Motors are mak­ing their assem­bly plants more ener­gy effi­cient. Ford has already trimmed ener­gy require­ments at its plants 20% since 2006 and is upping it to 25% by 2016. GM has released a plan to set up a solar ener­gy array at its Ori­on Assem­bly Plant.
