Kelley Blue Book Names 10 Best Green Cars

Kel­ley Blue Book once again names its 10 Best Green Cars of the year, based on being fuel-effi­cient vehi­cles wor­thy of buy­ers’ con­sid­er­a­tion. And the win­ners are, from num­ber 10 to num­ber 1:  2012 Scion iQ, with its petite dimen­sions, light­weight body, and fuel effi­cient 1.3L engine;  2013 Chevy Mal­ibu with eAs­sist, regen­er­a­tive brak­ing, and start-stop tech­nol­o­gy;  2012 Hyundai Elantra, with 40 mg high­way mileage;  2012 Lexus CT, a fun-to-dri­ve hybrid;

2012 Volk­swa­gen Pas­sat, with its tur­bocharged diesel engine;  2012 Hon­da Civic, with its choice of three ver­sions – gaso­line engine, hybrid, or nat­ur­al gas pow­ered;  2012 Chevy Volt offer­ing free­dom from range anx­i­ety;  2012 Mit­subishi i Car, the least expen­sive elec­tric vehi­cle with the longest MPGe at 112;  the 2012 Nis­san Leaf which is made from many recy­cled mate­ri­als and prag­mat­ic offer­ings; and at No. 1, it’s the 2012 Toy­ota Prius c, the new small­er ver­sion that gets 53 mpg in city dri­ving.
