Hybrid and Electric Car Sales Jumped Nearly Twice as High as Conventional in Q1

Edmunds.com just ana­lyzed first quar­ter US new vehi­cles sales and deter­mined that hybrid and elec­tric car sales increased 37% while con­ven­tion­al vehi­cles grew 20% dur­ing that time. Ris­ing gaso­line prices fueled the increase. Toy­ota sales made up two thirds of the total, while Hon­da, BMW, and GM saw the largest gains.
