Elec­tric util­i­ties and the US gov­ern­ment have con­clud­ed that plug-in elec­tric vehi­cles do not pose a threat to the elec­tric pow­er grid as they are intro­duced in small num­bers. How­ev­er, clus­ters of the vehi­cles on the same neigh­bor­hood cir­cuits may pose a prob­lem in some areas.
