Fuel cell vehicles have been the goal of automakers and consumers who want to move beyond vehicles that run on fossil fuels, like gasoline. General Motors and Honda have made the most progress. GM has a test fleet of 100 Equinox fuel cell vehicles in operation. Beginning last July Honda is leasing 200 FCX Clarity vehicles, powered by fuel cells, to customers in Southern California. The availability of fuel is the biggest problem; the Los Angles area only has three public hydrogen stations.
