$4 Per Gallon May Alter Americans’ Driving Habits


Fuel prices con­tin­ue to climb. Many econ­o­mists have been pre­dict­ing that at a cer­tain price point, con­sumers would begin to alter their dri­ving habits. That point may be $4 a gal­lon. As ener­gy costs con­tin­ue to climb, Amer­i­cans are chang­ing vaca­tion plans and adopt­ing mass tran­sit to get to work. Even though Amer­i­cans are dri­ving less, crude oil prices con­tin­ue to climb mean­ing high­er gaso­line prices in the near future.
