New Energy Bill Means First Ever Fuel Economy Standards for Medium and Heavy Trucks

The new energy bill contains higher fuel economy standards for light vehicles and no incentives for alternative fuels or oil companies. For the first time, energy legislation requires that work trucks have federal fuel economy standards. These are expected to be determined by 2016 as a joint effort by US DOT, US DOE and US EPA.
