Extreme Heat Ages Tires and Leads to Failures

The NHTSA and insurance company data see a high correlation between tire age and failure. Extreme heat ages tires faster. Under-inflation is often related to heat damage as well. A spokesman for the Rubber Manufacturers Association said, “Heat is the enemy of a tire.” Most drivers fail to properly check tire pressure.
