Indian Automakers Face Huge Challenges, Study Predicts Continued Growth

A new study by IBM and the Transportation Research Institute of the University of Michigan highlights a number of significant problems that face Indian automakers. Poor roads, shortage of skilled labor and inadequate port facilities are among the obstacles. The study concludes that India will continue to be a growing domestic market and an export powerhouse. The Indian government and consumers’ access to credit gives these automakers an advantage over their Chinese counterparts.
