Led by its Sonata mid­size sedan, Hyundai is mak­ing a strong sec­ond run at the U.S. mar­ket. Well ahead of VW, BMW and Mit­subishi, Hyundai’s U.S. sales are approach­ing 500,000 vehi­cles per year. Among non­lux­u­ry brands, Hyundai ranked 3rd in the J.D. Pow­er 2005 ini­tial-qual­i­ty study.
