Many Logistics Managers Blame HOS Rules for Rise in Transportation Costs


Sev­en­ty-five per­cent of 251 logis­tics man­agers sur­veyed believe that the new hours-of-ser­vice reg­u­la­tions are respon­si­ble for ris­ing costs an aver­age of thir­teen and one-half per­cent. Six­ty-six per­cent of the car­ri­ers are impos­ing more and high­er sur­charges for load deten­tion or mul­ti­ple stops. Twen­ty-nine per­cent of logis­tics man­agers are switch­ing from full truck­loads to rail and inter­modal.
