Hino Trucks Selects Telogis for Exclusive Telematics Solution

Tel­o­gis notched its sec­ond OEM win in recent months when it announced an exclu­sive rela­tion­ship to pow­er Hino Insight 2.O, a com­pre­hen­sive web-based telem­at­ics solu­tion aimed specif­i­cal­ly for the needs of the medi­um-based com­mer­cial truck mar­ket. Ear­li­er this year Tel­o­gis announced an agree­ment to pro­vide telem­at­ics solu­tions to GM fleet cus­tomers select­ing GM’s OnStar. Pri­or to that, Tel­o­gis had forged truck-based rela­tion­ships with Ford and Vol­vo.

The announce­ment could have broad­er impli­ca­tions because Hino Trucks is a Toy­ota Group com­pa­ny. Susan Heystee, exec­u­tive vice pres­i­dent, world­wide sales at Tel­o­gis said, “With INSIGHT 2.0, Hino cus­tomers have one of the eas­i­est paths to advanced solu­tions that help them max­i­mize uptime and enhance the safe­ty, pro­duc­tiv­i­ty and envi­ron­men­tal impact of their fleets.”

Hino said that INSIGHT 2.0 will pro­vide cus­tomers with improved total cost of own­er­ship, bet­ter vehi­cle uptime and world-class user expe­ri­ences. The updat­ed plat­form will help cus­tomers save mon­ey, increase safe­ty and improve oper­a­tions by pro­vid­ing the mis­sion-crit­i­cal infor­ma­tion they require to opti­mize their fleets.

The appli­ca­tion suite will pro­vide Hino cus­tomers with access to Tel­o­gis’ com­pre­hen­sive loca­tion intel­li­gence plat­form that includes solu­tions for route opti­miza­tion, real-time work order man­age­ment, nav­i­ga­tion, telem­at­ics and mobile inte­gra­tion ser­vices. Along with these fea­tures, a fleet man­agers will have a dash­board that pro­vides a dai­ly snap­shot of their fleet’s crit­i­cal diag­nos­tics sta­tus and vehi­cle and dri­ver per­for­mance against estab­lished tar­gets.

Launch­ing this sum­mer, Hino INSIGHT 2.0 pow­ered by Tel­o­gis will be stan­dard on 2015MY Hino 195h and 195h-DC hybrid mod­els, and as an option on the 195 and 195-DC mod­els and the full con­ven­tion­al truck prod­uct line­up.
