Which Used Luxury Models Are Car Buyers Aiming For?

AutoTrader.com gives a read-out on used luxury cars that should be worth big bucks even after three years, while selecting the 10 best buys on the market.

Dealers: Find out which luxury models will fetch the most cash at trade-in time.

Luxury dealers looking to generate a few trade-ins might get a better idea of what kind of buyers make up their target audience, thanks to a list recently published by AutoTrader.com.

The site has named its 10 Most Valuable Used Luxury Cars, as determined by the 3-year-old vehicles for which dealers are offering the most cash via AutoTrader’s Trade-In Marketplace.

According to the AutoTrader post, the top 10 is as follows:

1. Mercedes-Benz G-Class
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price: Approximately $90,000

2. Audi R8
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price: $88,000

3. Porsche Panamera
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price: $70,000 or slightly higher

4. Jaguar XKR
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price: In the neighborhood of $65,000

5. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price: $64,000

6. Mercedes-Benz SL-Class
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price: $58,000 (for SL550)

7. Lexus LX 570
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price: $57,908.

8. Nissan GT-R
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price: Slightly higher than $57,000.

9. Range Rover
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price:  The spectrum goes from $56,700 for Range Rover Supercharged to a sum more akin to $50,000 for a Supercharged Sport

10. Mercedes-Benz CL-Class
Average Trade-In Marketplace Price: $56,142 (CL550).   The average for the S-Class is about $4,000 lower
