Used Commercial Vehicles Beating Out New in Sales

Used com­mer­cial vehi­cle reg­is­tra­tions dur­ing 1st half of 2013 cal­en­dar year were up more than 9% over same peri­od in 2012, accord­ing to Polk. Near­ly 357,100 used com­mer­cial reg­is­tra­tions were record­ed. Mar­ket show­ing con­tin­ued demand for clean used equip­ment – much more so than new com­mer­cial vehi­cles, which saw an increase of only one half per­cent dur­ing first half of this year.

Used Account­ed for 56.7% of Com­mer­cial Vehi­cle Trans­ac­tions in First Half:
From 2004 to 2008, used trans­ac­tions account­ed for 41% to 48% of trans­ac­tions.
