GM and Ford Partner up to Improve Transmissions for Fuel Economy

Traditionally rivals, GM and Ford announced an arrangement to coordinate for a project which aims to improve multispeed transmissions to improve fuel efficiency. The project is projected to engineer the next wave of expensive innovation, a feat that was recently achieved by Chrysler. Automakers are creating alliances now that were unheard of years ago to speed up the necessary R&D process.
