Driverless Cars — the Key to Solving Distracted Driving?

In the next decade there will be more dri­ver­less cars that will allow pas­sen­gers to be as dis­tracted as they wish, said a panel of engi­neers at the 2013 SAE World Con­gress, on April 16. Chris­t­ian Schu­macher, head of advanced dri­ver assis­tance sys­tems with sup­plier Con­ti­nen­tal esti­mates that par­tially auto­mated cars will be on the road in sig­nif­i­cant num­bers by 2016.
