Donlen Now Offering Mobile Version of DriverPoint Telematics Solution, Garmin Providing In-Dash Navigation to Mercedes-Benz Models, TomTom Extends Mobile Fleet Management Solution

Donlen Dri­ver­Point Mobile Telem­at­ics Now Avail­able for iPhone and iPad
Donlen has launched Dri­ver­Point® Mobile, the smart­phone ver­sion of their award-win­ning Dri­ver­Point® Telem­at­ics solu­tion. Dri­ver­Point Telem­at­ics users can now down­load the mobile ver­sion and have access to many of the same fea­tures in the full appli­ca­tion. Avail­able via the App Store, Dri­ver­Point Mobile fea­tures include: Map: Sim­i­lar to the web-based pro­gram, users can view all of their vehi­cles and their cur­rent sta­tus­es, includ­ing the abil­i­ty to search by a driver’s name or Donlen Vehi­cle Num­ber (DVN). Dri­ver: From the Map, man­agers can select a dri­ver by search­ing for their name or DVN in the search bar or by select­ing their icon on the map. The map will refresh, dis­play­ing the route of the dri­ver for the date spec­i­fied. Events: Once a vehi­cle is select­ed, man­agers can view all trip infor­ma­tion for the spe­cif­ic day, and fil­ter by what events they want to see. Dash­board: Man­agers can view dash­board graphs dis­play­ing infor­ma­tion about the fleet’s Green Scores, alerts, and dri­ver counts. Learn more.

Daim­ler Choos­es Garmin to Pro­vide In-Dash Nav­i­ga­tion
Daim­ler AG has select­ed Garmin Inter­na­tion­al Inc. as glob­al nav­i­ga­tion provider for future Mer­cedes-Benz mod­els. Garmin’s award-win­ning nav­i­ga­tion will be ful­ly inte­grat­ed into Mer­cedes-Benz info­tain­ment sys­tems over the next four years. Build­ing upon Garmin’s easy-to-use inter­face, advanced nav­i­ga­tion func­tion­al­i­ty will be seam­less­ly inte­grat­ed into the Mer­cedes-Benz info­tain­ment sys­tems to pro­vide an effi­cient and intu­itive expe­ri­ence. In addi­tion to dis­play­ing nav­i­ga­tion and maps on the in-dash dis­play, users will have access to impor­tant dri­ver infor­ma­tion, such as next turn, at a glance on a sec­ond dis­play, posi­tioned behind the steer­ing wheel. The Mer­cedes-Benz info­tain­ment sys­tems also allow users to con­trol nav­i­ga­tion func­tions through the system’s rotary con­troller or via voice com­mand func­tion­al­i­ty. Garmin’s next-gen­er­a­tion nav­i­ga­tion soft­ware will pro­vide crit­i­cal posi­tion­ing infor­ma­tion for Advanced Dri­ver Assis­tance (ADAS) func­tion­al­i­ties of the vehi­cle to assist dri­vers in chal­leng­ing sit­u­a­tions. Tom­Tom Extends Fleet Man­age­ment Solu­tion for Effi­cient­ly Man­ag­ing Mobile Oper­a­tions
Tom­Tom has extend­ed the inte­gra­tion pos­si­bil­i­ties for its fleet man­age­ment solu­tion to help com­pa­nies man­age their mobile oper­a­tions more effi­cient­ly. Tom­Tom Busi­ness Solu­tions allows third-par­ty devel­op­ers to cre­ate new appli­ca­tions for use in and around the vehi­cle. This is enabled by grant­i­ng access to the Blue­tooth chan­nel on TomTom’s in-vehi­cle LINK device. By inte­grat­ing a wide range of mobile hard­ware devices Tom­Tom Busi­ness Solu­tions expands the func­tion­al­i­ties of its con­nect­ed car tech­nol­o­gy. New appli­ca­tions will allow busi­ness­es to enrich data from hard­ware, such as tire pres­sure sen­sors and tem­per­a­ture con­trol units, with com­pre­hen­sive infor­ma­tion from their vehi­cle fleet. Tom­Tom will expand the range of such avail­able solu­tions by invit­ing devel­op­ers to join its part­ner net­work. Cen­tral to TomTom’s strat­e­gy is the devel­op­ment of part­ner appli­ca­tions that seam­less­ly inte­grate with TomTom’s fleet man­age­ment ser­vice.
