Used Car Sales Healthy in January But Pricing Stagnant, Spinella Says

Used car sales were approach­ing 2.3M unit mar­ket, up 4% from Jan­u­ary 2012; Inde­pen­dent deal­ers are more than 15% ahead of their 2012 pace, and fran­chised deal­ers are ahead 14%; pri­vate party sales are down about 16% — trend started in last quar­ter of 2012 and should reverse course in Spring.

Grow­ing sup­ply of trucks and pas­sen­ger cars part of price problem.
