No Big Changes in Store for Vehicle Safety Laws in the New Year

What is the new year bring­ing in for vehi­cle safety laws? A few dif­fer­ences but noth­ing dra­mat­i­cally new. NHTSA has again delayed adop­tion of rear vis­i­bil­ity rules for all new vehi­cles sold. Maine will strengthen its teen grad­u­ated dri­ver licens­ing law to extend the inter­me­di­ate phase of dri­ving when teens can­not drive pas­sen­gers or drive at night. Over­all, dis­tracted dri­ving laws are slow­ing down in 2013.
