Diesel Moves a Step Closer in Ford Products

Ford plans to expand diesel engine production in South Africa in order to power its new Transit commercial van in global sales.

The diesel, also known as the Duratorq, has been in strong demand because it is sold around the world in the popular Ranger compact pickup. The Ranger is sold in all regions but North America.

Ford officials will not discuss plans to add the 3.2-liter diesel to its F-Series [but] the Power Stroke diesel will be exported to Ford’s assembly plant in Claycomo, MO.
