Aisin Seiki Demonstrating Intelligent, Green Vehicles in Detroit

Japan-based, For­tune Glob­al 500 auto­mo­tive parts sup­pli­er Aisin Sei­ki is par­tic­i­pat­ing in two intel­li­gent, green vehi­cle dis­plays at the upcom­ing North Amer­i­can Inter­na­tion­al Auto Show. Its lat­est inno­v­a­tive intel­li­gent trans­port sys­tem tech­nol­o­gy will be on exhib­it in the show hall. Dur­ing a press pre­view, the AISIN unique demon­stra­tion car will be shown, and it incor­po­rates tech­nol­o­gy for safe dri­ving. Fea­tures of the Aisin Human Error Mon­i­tor­ing Sys­tem include: sen­sors buried inside the seat mon­i­tor the driver’s heart rate, breath­ing rhythm, and gen­er­al body move­ments for signs of irreg­u­lar behav­ior; an infra-red cam­era posi­tioned on the steer­ing col­umn cov­er mon­i­tors changes in the driver’s facial expres­sions for atten­tive­ness (face and eye gaz­ing direc­tion) and drowsi­ness (eye-open­ing mea­sure­ments).

Aisin Sei­ki will also spon­sor the “Aisin Dri­ve Green Expe­ri­ence,” dur­ing the Detroit auto show. It offers an elec­tric and hybrid vehi­cle test-dri­ve course, from Mon­day, Jan. 14 to Sun­day, Jan. 13, 2013, in Detroit. The com­pa­ny has nev­er been to this auto show, and rec­og­nizes it as one of the world’s most promi­nent inter­na­tion­al auto­mo­tive indus­try shows. Aisin Dri­ve Green Expe­ri­ence is a course spe­cial­ly set up for test dri­ving elec­tric and hybrid vehi­cles, dur­ing a time when glob­al automak­ers are rush­ing to devel­op and mar­ket these vehi­cles. As a spon­sor, AISIN is help­ing to bring more excite­ment to the event, as well as pre­sent­ing glob­al audi­ences with Japan’s safe and envi­ron­men­tal­ly friend­ly tech­nol­o­gy such as the Intel­li­gent Trans­port Sys­tem Demon­stra­tion and the 2000GT Solar Elec­tric Vehi­cle. The ITS Demo Car is a demon­stra­tion vehi­cle that pro­vides hands-on expe­ri­ence with safe­ty tech­nolo­gies devel­oped by the AISIN Group. These include a sen­sor that detects sleepy or sick dri­vers and sounds alarms or pro­vides dri­ving assis­tance.
