Japan-based, Fortune Global 500 automotive parts supplier Aisin Seiki is participating in two intelligent, green vehicle displays at the upcoming North American International Auto Show. Its latest innovative intelligent transport system technology will be on exhibit in the show hall. During a press preview, the AISIN unique demonstration car will be shown, and it incorporates technology for safe driving. Features of the Aisin Human Error Monitoring System include: sensors buried inside the seat monitor the driver’s heart rate, breathing rhythm, and general body movements for signs of irregular behavior; an infra-red camera positioned on the steering column cover monitors changes in the driver’s facial expressions for attentiveness (face and eye gazing direction) and drowsiness (eye-opening measurements).
Aisin Seiki will also sponsor the “Aisin Drive Green Experience,” during the Detroit auto show. It offers an electric and hybrid vehicle test-drive course, from Monday, Jan. 14 to Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, in Detroit. The company has never been to this auto show, and recognizes it as one of the world’s most prominent international automotive industry shows. Aisin Drive Green Experience is a course specially set up for test driving electric and hybrid vehicles, during a time when global automakers are rushing to develop and market these vehicles. As a sponsor, AISIN is helping to bring more excitement to the event, as well as presenting global audiences with Japan’s safe and environmentally friendly technology such as the Intelligent Transport System Demonstration and the 2000GT Solar Electric Vehicle. The ITS Demo Car is a demonstration vehicle that provides hands-on experience with safety technologies developed by the AISIN Group. These include a sensor that detects sleepy or sick drivers and sounds alarms or provides driving assistance.
