GM to Show off Stylized Subcompact
The production version of the vehicle will be shown to the public for the first time at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas starting Oct. 30.
“With a year under our belt, we’ve learned our Sonic sedan buyers are looking at exterior styling as a key purchase driver,” said Cristi Landy, marketing director of Chevrolet small cars.
The Sonic Dusk, targeted at young buyers and designed to burnish GM’s reputation in the passenger-car segment, will have a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine and six-speed automatic or manual transmission.
With a pearl nickel finish on 18-inch wheels and the Chevy MyLink infotainment system, the vehicle is an example of how GM is responding to “customers that want to bring features from a larger vehicle into a small vehicle.”
