Colorado State Fleet Looking at Bids for Alternative Fuel Vehicles

Denver Post - October 23, 2012

Electric, hybrid and compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles are being reviewed after 271 bids were recently submitted to supply non-gasoline vehicles to Colorado’s 5,800-vehicle state fleet. A budgeted $21 million was made to help meet Colorado’s 2007 “Greening Government” goals, which require that half the fuel bought for state vehicles be alternative fuel. State legislators are debating whether to focus more on CNG vehicles than electric vehicles.
