Mac Tools Issues Diagnostic Trouble Code App for Service Technicians

With all the fair­ly new cars using OBD II onboard diag­nos­tics, ser­vice tech­ni­cians have a full plate. There are more than 5,000 diag­nos­tic trou­ble codes (DTCs), said Paul Zarlen­go, Mac Tools prod­uct man­ag­er for diag­nos­tics. To deal with it, the com­pa­ny issued its Mac Tools TaskMo­bile Lite smart­phone appli­ca­tion for auto­mo­tive pro­fes­sion­als to have vocab­u­lary def­i­n­i­tions of DTCs that cause a vehicle’s check light to illu­mi­nate. The free app is avail­able for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

‚ÄúThe TaskMo¬≠bile Lite will pro¬≠vide mechan¬≠ics a dic¬≠tio¬≠nary of diag¬≠nos¬≠tic trou¬≠ble codes in the palm of their hands and enable pros to get the job done faster and more effi¬≠cient¬≠ly,‚ÄĚ Zarlen¬≠go said. The mechan¬≠ic just needs to enter the numer¬≠i¬≠cal code from their diag¬≠nos¬≠tic scan¬≠ner and hit ‚ÄúCheck Code.‚ÄĚ The code def¬≠i¬≠n¬≠i¬≠tion in instant¬≠ly retrieved, and the app keeps a run¬≠ning DTC his¬≠to¬≠ry of all entered codes for trans¬≠la¬≠tion. There are oth¬≠er resources such as fre¬≠quent¬≠ly asked ques¬≠tions and an easy how-to-use guide.
