Taylor: Dealer Sales Are Increasing

Paul Taylor, chief economist for the National Automobile Dealers Association, said dealer sales are increasing and, for the first time in three years, dealers aren’t relying on their service departments to put them in the black.

Urban Science said the U.S. dealership network is poised to reach record-breaking average number of sales per dealership and profitability levels by the end of the year.

… the average number of sales per dealership will rise to 805 vehicles annually, because there are fewer dealers and sales are up industry-wide this year, to a projected 14.3 million cars and light trucks. The previous record is 784 per dealer.
