Consumers Consider Electric Vehicles, but Have Challenging Preferences

A glob­al study by Accen­ture finds that most con­sumers would con­sid­er buy­ing a plug-in elec­tric vehi­cle for their next car pur­chase and are espe­cial­ly inter­est­ed in plug-in hybrid elec­tric mod­els. How­ev­er, an accom­pa­ny­ing Accen­ture study finds that con­sumer pref­er­ences for charg­ing PEVs could increase cost and com­plex­i­ty of man­ag­ing the elec­tric­i­ty grid and charg­ing infra­struc­ture.
