Consumer Federation of America Clarifies JD Power Electric Vehicle Report - April 27, 2011

The Consumer Federation of America, an association of non-profit consumer organizations, is clarifying information released by the JD Power report on electric vehicles. JD Power reported electric vehicles may be “over-hyped” as a significant part of a manufacturer’s sales by 2020. CFA points out there will be over 1M electric vehicles on the road by 2015, meaning a sales rate of 250K units. This number is similar to Toyota Corolla sales of 266K or 260K Honda Civic sales annually.
