Dropping Mileage Means Lower Insurance Rates for Consumers

NULL

Major car insurers have announced that drivers who get less than 7,500 miles a year are eligible for premium reductions averaging from 10% to 12%. In the State Farm program, drivers can get discounts ranging from 12% to 18%. Car owners who drive more than that but less than they used to may also save on premiums, according to a study by the Consumer Federation of America. The study says consumers could save 5% to 15% by cutting mileage enough to drop into a different ratings category.
