Tundra Quality Problems Tarnish Toyota Image

2007 Toyota Tundra

Toyota finds itself in an unusual position: defending its quality. The latest problem concerns the Tundra six-speed transmission. Some customers are complaining that the torque converter has problems disengaging during gearshifts. After early quality problems with the US-built truck, Toyota thought quality issues were behind them. In a further blow, Consumer Reports rated it “below average” in projected reliability. Detroit Automakers are gleeful.
